Fusebits, a Superluminal company, was founded upon equal parts passion for and frustration with the state of embedded engineering today.

Companies like Arduino, Sparkfun and Adafruit have made embedded prototyping very accessible, but unfortunately most of those projects remain as prototypes. These companies don’t provide the tools needed by most hobbyists to overcome the major hurdles of productization.

Traditionally, when a person is trying to productize an Arduino project, they have to contend with “Fuse Bits”, which can be mysterious, complex to understand, and dangerous to tinker with if done incorrectly. Many people have bricked their boards grappling with these, as the first step to productization.

Fusebits is named after this because it represents the problem we are trying to solve. We are bridging the gap between entry level projects and professional products.
